The Southold First Settlers brought the Greenport Porters’ unbeaten record to an end on Tuesday night with a 49-45 boys basketball victory at Greenport High School. Greenport, which has been the No. 1 ranked Class C team by the New York State Sportswriters Association, saw its record go to 13-1, 8-1 in Suffolk County League VIII.

Not even a game-high 31 points from Dantré Langhorne could stop Southold, which upped its mark to 8-5, 6-3.

Winston Wilcenski led Southold with 21 points. Alex Conway was credited with 10 points and 18 rebounds while Sal Manno chipped in eight points and six assists for the First Settlers, who lost by 61-54 when the two teams played in Southold on Jan. 4.

Langhorne was a force with his 31 points, but he was one of only three Porters who scored. Jalen Shelby had 11 points and Tremayne Hansen three.
