John E. Manarel

John E. Manarel died Feb. 12 in Cutchogue, where he had lived for 41 years. He was 70.

He was born in Southampton March 13, 1940, to Viola (Elverson) and Samuel Manarel. He graduated from Oyster Bay High School in 1957, and served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965, attaining the rank of SP4 E-4.

According to family, he enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and writing poetry, and was a member of Mattituck Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Manarel is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Broderick of Delaware, and her family.

Arrangements were in the care of Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. Cremation was private. A memorial service will be held in May.
