Southold Town court report

Ryan Strong, 26, of Mattituck pleaded guilty in Southold Justice Court Friday to a charge of driving while ability impaired, reduced from an original charge of driving while intoxicated. Judge Rudolph Bruer suspended Mr. Strong’s license for 90 days and fined him $560.

• Richard Hermance, 21, of Greenport pleaded guilty to second-degree menacing and was sentenced to one year of interim probation, with final sentencing deferred for up to a year. In the meantime, Mr. Hermance was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service.
Two charges of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and a charge of third-degree fleeing from an officer were dismissed.
Mr. Hermance paid fines totaling $420 on traffic violations, including speeding and failing to stop at a stop sign.
The court dealt with 49 cases on Friday.
A new requirement that records be requested in advance and made available only after a judge had approved their release delayed the Jan. 28 court report, a portion of which appears below:

• James McGreevy, 40, of Peconic pleaded guilty in Southold Justice Court Jan. 28 to a charge of petit larceny and was sentenced to 30 days at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility. He was fined $205. Judge William Price Jr. dismissed a charge of fourth-degree criminal mischief that had been brought against Mr. McGreevy.

• Judge Price issued a warrant for the arrest of Joseph Bertolas, 51, of Commack who failed to appear to answer charges of DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

• Lorraine Vicarelli, 56, of Mattituck was granted an adjournment for six months in contemplation of dismissing charges of third- and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

• Judge Price dismissed a charge of second-degree criminal contempt brought against Steven Bosco, 45, of Southold.
The court dealt with 47 cases Jan. 28.
