Stop! Don’t blink! No, really, don’t blink! I did it once this month (OK, so maybe a little more than that) and the month just disappeared! Can you believe tomorrow is the first day of April? All we have to do now is get through the rainy days associated with April and then it’s sunshine and blue skies. We’re in single digits now —just 82 days until the first day of summer.

An old-fashioned variety show will take place Sunday, April 3, at 2 p.m. in the auditorium at Greenport Schools. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Greenport American Legion Building Fund. So why not join in the festivities for a good cause and enjoy an afternoon of instrumental numbers, dancers, singing and a whole lot more. Tickets, which will be available at the door, are $10 for adults and $5 for children accompanied by an adult. For more information, call Marilyn at 834-0106.

Tomorrow, April 1, the Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary will host a “Jewels and More” boutique sale in the hospital conference room from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For further information, call 477-5196.

OK, GHS junior and senior girls, are you ready? The event you’ve been waiting for is just around the corner and promises to be bigger and better than last year’s. Of course, I’m talking about the GHS Prom Boutique, which will be held in the school’s small gym next Wednesday, April 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. and is open only to GHS girls. Now’s the time to pick out your dream prom dress and have a bunch of fun with your classmates in the process.

Now that Duke is out of the Big Dance (otherwise known as the NCAA men’s basketball tournament), my philosophy is simple. I’m back to the ABCs of life: Anybody But Carolina. (You can also substitute Connecticut, if you wish.)
