Mary McGinness

Mary McGinness, who resided at Driftwood Cove, died March 26 in Greenport. She was 83.

She was born March 31, 1927, in Yonkers, N.Y., to Alessandra (Galante) and Ernest Caputo, and was a high school graduate.

She was a volunteer at Eastern Long Island Hospital’s Opportunity Shop in Greenport and a member of St. Agnes R.C. Church in Greenport. She enjoyed cooking, decorating and spending time with family and friends.

Predeceased by her partner, Ed Rock; her son, Mark; her daughter, Christine; and her sisters, Irene Parks and Amy Pozzo, she is survived by her daughter-in-law, Gina McGinness; her granddaughter, Kolene McGinness; her grandsons, Christopher Campmany and Tyler McGinness; her great-granddaughter, Angelina Vardamaskos; her nephew and niece-in-law, Burt and Renate Parks; and her great-nephew, Nicholas Parks.

A mass was celebrated March 30 at St. Agnes, followed by interment at the church cemetery. Arrangements were in the care of Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport.
