Police shut down underage drinking party in Cutchogue

A 19-year-old Cutchogue resident was arrested Friday night after police found more than 100 teenagers at a party at his house where many people were consuming alcoholic beverages, according to Southold Town Police.

Police said that while on patrol on Bridge Lane, they saw “numerous underage persons carrying several cases of beer into and toward the home” just before 11:30 p.m. After an investigation in which police said they found several types of beer, liquor and small amounts of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the house, they arrested Erick B. Secaida, who lived in the house.

Mr. Secaida was charged with violating Suffolk County’s social host law by allowing the consumption of alcohol by minors. Mr. Secaida was also charged with underage possession of alcohol. Both charges are violations.

Mr. Secaida was taken to police headquarters, processed and released after he helped police disperse the crowd from his house.

DWI arrest in Cutchogue

Alberto Gomez, 31, of Peconic was charged with DWI after he crashed into another car while backing up in the parking lot of the Cutchogue 7-Eleven just before midnight Saturday, according to Southold Police.

Police said Mr. Gomez failed several field sobriety tests.
