POLICE BLOTTER Southold Town

Evelyn R. Kahn, 52, of Cutchogue was arrested by Southold Town Police just after 10 p.m. Monday, after police received a report of a  woman slumped over the steering wheel of a car on West Creek Drive in Cutchogue. Police said when they arrived on the scene they found an intoxicated Ms. Kahn inside her running vehicle. She was charged with DWI and held overnight for a morning arraignment.

A 46-year-old Sag Harbor man was taken to ELIH for evaluation after driving his car into a utility pole on Route 48 in Greenport Sunday in  an apparent suicide attempt. Police said that the man told them that voices in his head told him to swerve his 2000 Ford sedan into the pole, which was just west of Queen Street.

Chantel E. Hajek, 40, of Mattituck, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation by Southold Town Police after she was involved in  a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 25 and Pacific  
St. Friday afternoon, according to police reports. Police said that Ms. Hajek, who was driving with a revoked license, was taken to  headquarters and released on $100 bail.

A Cutchogue woman reported that someone smashed the front and rear drivers’ side windows of her 1990 Nissan  
and stole her license plates and an iPod that was in the car while she was parked at the Mattituck High School between 7 and 8:43 p.m. on March 7.

A South St., Southold man reported on March 11 that someone stole $160 in cash from a truck parked in his driveway sometime between March 10 at 8 p.m. and 9:45 on March 11. The same man also reported on the evening of March 11 that $1,832 in cash was taken from a lock box in his house while he was away on vacation between Feb. 28 and March 6.
