Margaret Busching

Margaret Busching of Southold died Feb. 14 in Stony Brook. She was 88.

She was born May 8, 1922, to Minnie (Tanner) and John Himebaugh. After graduating from Altoona High School, she served as a yeoman second class in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Brooklyn and London.

She later worked for Dr. Rothman and the Wedgewood Shop and was an admitting clerk at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport from 1966 to 1977. She had been a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and, according to family, enjoyed baking and golfing.

Predeceased by her husbands, Douglas Rhodes and Robert Busching, she is survived by her children, Michael, of DeBary, Fla., Stuart, of Lakeland, Fla., and Judy, of Hicksville; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home. Services will be held Sunday, May 8, at 1:30 p.m. at Ms. Busching’s home in Southold.
