Blotter: Immigration papers stolen in Greenport

An Eighth St., Greenport, resident reported on March 4 that someone stole a black bag containing important immigration papers, birth certificates, photocopies of Social Security numbers, a marriage license and money orders from her car sometime overnight. Police said that the car may have been unlocked.

• The owners of a farm on Horton Lane in Southold reported on April 7 that, sometime between April 1 and April 7, someone removed $2,200 worth of aluminum irrigation pipe from behind a barn and a custom aluminum dive ladder from an outbuilding on the property, according to police. The case was referred to the detective division.

• A Route 25, Laurel, resident reported on April 10 that someone stole a Yerf-Dog two-person go-kart from a garage on the property. A town employee reported finding the go-kart on Main Road in Cutchogue on the morning of April 11, after which it was returned to its owner, according to police reports.

• A King St., New Suffolk, resident reported on April 10 that someone stole a 30-pound propane tank from her yard sometime between March 31 and April 10, according to police reports. Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
