  • SEEMS LIKE EVERYTHING THAT MR. WALTER GETS INVOLVED WITH WINDS UP GOING INTO THE SEWER

  • Is anything proposed for downtown Riverhead ever “real”?

  • A far better maritime attraction for downtown would have Eddie bringing back the spirit of Captain Quint from Jaws to fairy (only the hairdresser knows for sure) the Four Amigos to Plum Island to be used for chum (flavoured with choice mold provided by the “political conscience”) to attract the Montauk Monster.

  • Thankyou gentlemen for putting Riverhead first.

  • Our “flying blind in financial matters” supervisor who now describes himself as “the new sheriff in town” appears to have worked overtime to destroy the effort to place a cruise boat downtown.
I wonder why. Could this action be contrary to the benefit of those voters who placed him in office? His administration itself appears to be a shipwreck in progress. We need to elect a new supervisor in November.

  • Ahoy, Captain Sean. (whoops, I mean Sheriff) I will gladly pay for YOU to take a long cruise on a short ocean…..one way of course. Let Mr. Rothaar man the helm for you!

  • Ah, me. Riverhead, Riverhead, will anything ever come to fruition?

  • ron perhaps you can retain the sirvices of ed graham( gilligan) abbatichio( the skipper) & decantia(the professor), and file a law suit against the 105 bridge for not allowing the boat to sail under it.
thank god for our officials that saw through those three ! can you imagine those three taking people out to sea? in the evening? with booze? hah, with the amount of confusion between them they be lucky to make it past the 105 bridge, andone more thing ron, youre truly the one thing in this world
that could attrack a montauk monster thing about it, your basement office is beatifully situated
behind a bunch of trash bins so you retain the correct scent, and you are the perfect size
to put on a#4 shark hook.

  • no we dont need to elect a new supervisor, ron

  • so the Riverhead “merchant mafia” has struck again. The plan to run another potential moneymaker out of town has succeeded again. It seems like the only guys who ever have a problem with everything that wants to come here are the few ones that make money in this town. Ron, it seems like “the hairdresser” has struck again. What the hell business did he have even going to see this boat when he isn’t even a council member? Was it so he and his fellow merchants could pull Sean the puppets strings as usual? Seems kind of weird to me that these guys would come out here and propose a business with false intentions….what would there gain be from that? And then figure out what Ray and his fellow merchant mafia achieve by keeping them out…preserving parking for the precious hair salon and aquarium. As usual another shady move by Ray the tyrant gets swept away and blamed on someone else……good job Ray…your merchant mafia is safe yet again.

  • I’m assuming that dinghy is the hairdresser. If you are going to make comments insulting others at least learn how to spell and punctuate. Or has the spelling of services been changed from an e to an i? With morons like you having a say in things it’s a wonder why Main St. is a ghost town. I think all that hair dye is getting too many fumes to your brain. Imbecile.

  • Whatever the merits of this particular project, I continue to be concerned about legitimate businesses complaining about not being able to get anything done because they are not part of the friends and family network.

The fact that the Town recently has been lambasted by different respected judges in multiple lawsuits alleging the same type of discriminatory conduct and making up rules to harm certain projects only heightens my concern. Moreover, I do not believe giving away millions in tax breaks to certain businesses can be equated to any meaningful benefit to Riverhead taxpayers.

Like many in this Town, I believe our Moonlighting Supervisor is not qualified to run our Town and he and his Cronies are part of the problem.

Sadly, I agree with with so many of those who have lost confidence in our Town Board.

  • Good job Sean…another Riverhead Resorts we don’t need & kudos to u sir, at last we are seeing work being done on the Suffolk theater. Now any chance u could find a buyer for that bowling alley on 58?

  • These message boards have gotten kind of ridiculous. All they are is a forum for Ron Harari to drone on and on about his lame political agenda. In Ron’s world everything is a conspiracy. It’s all about “sandmines” of which there are none operating in Riverhead. “Cartels”, name one Ron. “Friends and Family” you used that one when Phil was in office and used it against Koz too. Ron, perhaps if you spent time actually doing some good for the community you’d know that everyone was FOR the boat idea; it got shot down because it wasn’t real, not because of some “grassy knoll” theory. News Review do us a favor and dump these useless comment sections. I’m tired of Mr. Harari logging on ten times a day to answer himself. Mr. Harari, go buy a video game or try the New York Times crossword puzzzle– you clearly need to find something to do with your free time.

  • Looks like someone is very concerned about people expressing their opinion on the topic of this failed administration and wants them to stop. Could it be Walters “political conscience” complaining? Trying to make it look like one person is commenting is typical of the desperate attempts at subterfuge one must resort to when one realizes their one term supervisor’s ship is sinking fast.

  • No. It simply is someone tired of you all subjecting us good readers to your juvenile nonsense. Express your opinion all you want just be factual and do it like a man.

  • Sorry Jq222 I do not post under an assumed name . I unlike you have nothing to hide.your hatred for me seems to run very deep, maybe a Psychiatrist would help you.As the bid president Iwas invited to go also as a member of the parking advisory commitee.Unfortunately Phil never took advice from any of his advisory commitees,he only listened to you and look where that got him.Anytime you would like to discuss why this decision on the boat was made i would be more than happy to give you the captains number or we can set up a meeting since you are not allowed in my shop because of your abusive behavior or have Ron go talk to the captain he only lives down the block from the boat

  • “The lady doth protest too much, methinks.”

  • I don’t even know who Ron is, but you are obviously clueless Mr. Williams. Who is “everyone”? Try and even find one quote of Sean’s that was positive about this idea. Even if you can, there are 10 times as many of his comments looking to dismiss this concept as somehow being unfair and bad for local business. (aka his friends) The truth hurts, doesn’t it?

  • Speaking about conspiracies, can you rell us more about the days with McNamara and all those bribes?

  • “Hosed” try reading the very website you flood with comments. The town board unamiously supported the cruise boat as did the BID, as did the Chamber of Commerce, that’s what I mean about dealing in facts. BTW, if anyone “protests too much” it is Mr. Harari who has now commented on this thread under at least five aliases.

  • Am I not mistaken or was there a dinner cruise boat out of Riverhead a few years ago before the reconstruction of the dock area…?

  • {quote=Mr. Williams} News Review do us a favor and dump these useless comment sections. I’m tired of Mr. Harari logging on ten times a day to answer himself{/quote} Yeah, we need a comments master here. Mr. Williams is tired of accusing Ron Hariri of sock puppeting… so, therefor, no one should be allowed to use this comment board!!

I, for one, am interested in hearing what a potential candidate has to say. Goodness knows that Mr. Walter promised all sorts of fantastic claims for Riverhead. How’s that going??? Remember this “Mr. Walter says Mr. Cardinale’s initiative to draw Apollo Real Estate Advisors to town “has destroyed downtown” and that downtown needs an attraction to bring people back.”

or how about this one: “If a shark stops swimming in the sea it will die. In the same way, if a town stops growing economically it, too, will die and it will not be able to provide the services required by its residents and businesses.”

  • I guess my definition of “support” and yours differ. Sean, who I am talking about here, had virtually nothing positive to say about this concept. I am not Mr. Harari, if that is what you are suggesting, which only goes to show you are as clueless as Sean in dealing with facts.

  • No, that wasn’t what I was suggesting and you know what? This conversation is now below me, you don’t understand basic facts and frankly I don’t care about your opinion. Have a nice day. If you had followed what happened at the meeting regarding the cruise ship you’d perhaps have a clue but you seem to have already drawn your conclusions regardless of the facts. I have no time for ill informed people. Please feel free to continue to chatter to each other, I’m done trying to wise up chumps.
