Donald J. Annino of Southold died April 16 in Greenport. He was 76.
He was born Aug. 26, 1934, in Bay Shore, N.Y., to Joseph and Jane (O’Connell) Annino.
For many years, he taught at West Islip High School, where he also coached football and lacrosse. He and his wife Sandra (Woodrow) lived in West Islip and then in Londonderry, Vt., before moving to Southold. They spent their winters in Estero, Fla. Family members said he enjoyed clamming and was an avid sailor.
He is survived by his wife; his sons, William and David; his brothers, Raymond and Gerald; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 20, from 9 to 11 a.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. At noon The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick R.C. Church in Southold by Father Peter Garry, with the assistance of the Ministry of Consolation.
