Blotter: Antique mirror stolen in Cutchogue

• A Broadwaters Rd., Cutchogue, resident reported that, sometime between Feb. 25 and April 16, someone stole an antique mirror in a gold frame and a painting of a fox hunt. Police said that the thief apparently gained entry to the house through a storm window that had been pried open.

• A Route 25, Greenport resident reported that, sometime between March 1 and April 17, someone stole a 1998 Greenport High School class ring, a 14 karat gold bracelet with the name Genevieve in gold and an 18-inch, 18 karat Byzantine chain necklace from a jewelry box in her bedroom.

• Several bottles of liquor were reported stolen from a boat yard in Greenport between April 13 and April 14. There was no sign of forced entry.

• Owners of the laundromat on Adams St. in Greenport reported that someone had tampered with their door in an attempt to gain access to the building on the evening of April 14, although they were unable to get in. Extra patrols of the area were requested.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
