Debby Sharp

Former Cutchogue resident Debby Sharp died April 13 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., just six days before her 91st birthday.

She was a member of Congregation Tifereth Israel in Greenport and a lifetime member of Hadassah.

Ms. Sharp worked for 10 years in the Riverhead School system, then became managing broker of Sharp Real Estate in Southold, where she was active in both the business and social communities. According to family members, she was a good mother and raised her children to be politically and environmentally aware. They said she loved to play bridge and golf and enjoyed walking along the beach.

After her first husband, Arthur J. Sharp, died in 1980, she married Albert Karp in 1987 and they settled in Fort Lauderdale.

In addition to Mr. Karp, she is survived by her children, Hank Sharp, Bill Sharp and Amy Hunter. She was predeceased by a daughter, Zoe Graves.
