NATALIE STIBER

Natalie Stiber of Southold died April 12 at the age of 90.

She was born Oct. 25, 1920, and was a graduate of James Madison High School and Brooklyn College. She lived in New York City with her husband, Seymour, who had a dental practice on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, and raised two children. For 15 years, she was a junior high school teacher and guidance counselor in lower Manhattan.

In 1970, after she retired, Ms. Stiber and her husband moved to what had been their summer cottage in Laughing Water, a waterfront community in Southold, where she lived for the rest of her life. According to family members, she loved the movement of the creek and the play of wildlife outside her living room window. She and her husband loved to travel, and enjoyed fishing in Peconic Bay and in Key West, Fla., family said. They also enjoyed the opera, theater, good food and dining.

Predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Ms. Stiber is survived by her son, Alex, her daughter, Cary, and a grandson.
