Ruth May Schineller

Former East Marion resident Ruth May Schineller of Belleview, Fla., died March 14 at the age of 94.

She was born and raised in New York City, and graduated from Julia Richmond High School there. She worked as an insurance clerk and at Macy’s department store on 34th Street.

Ms. Schineller lived in East Marion from 1953 until 1990, when she moved to Florida. She was a member of the Women’s Homemaker Group at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Greenport. Family members said enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family.

Predeceased by her husband, William John Schineller, she is survived by her sons, Roger, of The Villages, Fla., and Gary, of New Port Richey, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by a grandchild.

Arrangements were entrusted to Curlew Hills Funeral Home in Palm Harbor, Fla. Services were held April 7 at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens in Palm Harbor, where interment followed.
