Jordan M. Lang, 28, of Jamesport was arrested by Southold Police just after 12:30 a.m. on Sunday after she was stopped for riding a bicycle with no lights on Route 25 in Cutchogue. She was found to have several arrest warrants from Suffolk County 1st District Court, according to police reports. Ms. Lang was taken to Suffolk County Police’s seventh precinct and held for arraignment.
•A Route 25, Mattituck resident reported on May 14 that sometime since the previous day someone had broken into her home and stolen two flat-screen televisions, a DVD player, a laptop, a wedding band, a gold charm bracelet, a jade necklace and a gold pin, as well as several bottles of wine, gin and rum and shotgun ammunition. The victim, who had a rifle and a pellet gun in her home that were not stolen, asked police to destroy the weapons. Southold detectives are investigating.
•A Village Lane, Orient resident reported on May 14 that 1,750 maturing oyster buds, which had been in a mesh net hanging from a dock on the property, were stolen sometime between April 30 and May 7.
•An 88-year-old Southold woman was hospitalized on the morning of May 12, after she reportedly rear-ended another car stopped at a red light at the intersection of Cox Neck Road and Route 48 in Mattituck. Police said the woman, E.B. Schweiges, was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center by the Mattituck Fire Department rescue squad after she hit a car driven by William Penny, 55, of Keene, N.H.
Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
