Riverhead Combined Veterans annual Memorial Day Parade, Monday, May 30, begins 10 a.m. at corner of Pulaski Street and Osborne Avenue, on to Main Street, then Roanoke; ceremony at World War II Memorial, corner of Pulaski Street and Osborne Avenue at 11 a.m. Special presentation of refurbishment of monument by Gene McSherry.

Festivals

Mosaic Street Painting Festival, Sunday, May 29, noon-5 p.m. at East End Arts Council, East Main St., Riverhead. Celebration of Long Island’s beauty includes art and craft show and sale, street painting festival, performances by local musicians and several interactive activities for children, including arts and crafts, storytelling, face painting and drummer’s circle. Chowder Festival, Saturday, May 28, noon-3 p.m., New Suffolk waterfront on New Suffolk Avenue. Locally prepared chowder, barbecue, live music and children’s activities.
