A Thursday afternoon crash in Cutchogue that sent two men to the hospital occurred after one of the drivers ran a red light, Southold Town Police said.

Michael Leisher, 54 of Titusville, PA, was northbound in a pickup on Cox Lane and failed to stop at the light before attempting a left turn onto Route 48, police reported. An eastbound SUV driven by James Cassel, 74, of East Patchogue struck the truck on the side, flipping it over.

The Cutchogue Fire Department rescue squad took both men to Eastern Long Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
