A 96-year-old Mattituck woman was killed when her car collided with a dump truck at Sound and Wickham avenues in Mattituck Friday.

Judy Utter, known for many years as the North Fork Community Theater’s “ticket lady,” was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, according to Southold Police.

The crash occurred  just before 12:30 p.m. and involved a loaded dump truck and a white station wagon. The car’s front end was damaged.

The truck, owned by Corazzini Asphalt of Cutchogue, landed on its side and splashed what appeared to be hot asphalt across Sound Avenue’s westbound lanes.

Sound Avenue was closed just east of the intersection for several hours while firefighters diverted traffic to the Main Road.
