Elliott H. Robinson, age 96, formerly of Riverhead, N.Y., passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011, at his daughter’s home in Allegany, N.Y.
Born May 26, 1915, in Mattituck, N.Y., he was the son of Oscar and Caroline (Goldsmith) Robinson. He married Florence Pugsley, who predeceased him.
He was a lifelong farmer and farm equipment mechanic. He was employed for several years on the family farm in Mattituck, later went to work for Warner Farm in Riverhead and Hulse Peach Orchard and finished his working years at Tryac Truck and Equipment, retiring at the age of 69.
Mr. Robinson was a member of the Roanoke Lodge No. 462 Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Veritas Rebekah Lodge No. 167.
Surviving are a daughter, Diane Voegelin of Allegany; one granddaughter, Kerry Voegelin of Blakeslee, Pa.; one grandson, Mark Voegelin of Allegany; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Caroline Fischer; two brothers, George and John; a sister, Eunice Butterworth; and grandson Michael Voegelin.
A memorial service and interment at Riverhead Cemetery will be held at a later date.
