Two North Forkers were charged with DWI over the weekend.

Faith Finne, 52, of Southold was on Main Street in Greenport just after 1 a.m. on Saturday when police observed her in a visibly intoxicated state and warned her not to drive, according to police reports. Police said Ms. Finne was seen driving moments later.

After her car was stopped, Ms. Finne reportedly failed several field sobriety tests. She was taken to police headquarters and held overnight for arraignment.

Shelter Island Police arrested John W. Cato, 25, of Cutchogue for DWI just before midnight on Saturday, after he was stopped at a traffic safety checkpoint on North Ferry Road on Shelter Island. Police said Mr. Cato was also driving a car with a suspended registration and no insurance. The car also did not have a valid inspection sticker.

Mr. Cato was also cited with an open container violation for allegedly having an alcoholic beverage in his car. He was held overnight for a morning arraignment and released on $500 bail.
