Constance Bares

Constance Bares, 70, of Southold, died July 18 at home after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren.

Constance was born on June 2, 1941, in Queens, New York, to Vincent and Rita Curry. After raising her family in Manhasset, New York, Constance moved out to Southold with her husband, where she has resided for over 25 years.

Constance (also lovingly called “Big C”) thoroughly enjoyed cooking for family and friends, gardening and playing bridge on the porch. But what she loved more than anything were her grandchildren, to whom she devoted most of her thoughts and time throughout the years.

She was predeceased by her sister, Sr. Maureen Curry.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home, 32470 Main Road, Cutchogue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, July 22,  at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick R.C. Church in Southold. Burial will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery in Flushing, Queens.
