Cutchogue-New Suffolk: PTA movie night and library book sale

Hearing that Cpl. Alfred (AJ) Grossklaus was home safe and sound was music to Frank and Denise Dellaquila’s ears. They waited on pins and needles with their daughter, Francesca, to hear news of AJ’s arrival at Bethesda medical center and then home, where he is recovering from injuries sustained during a Taliban attack in Afghanistan. “What a great day –looking over at my son-in-law, relaxing, mending right here next to us,” Denise said. Thank you God and Denise’s mom, whose cross AJ wore around his neck. A Purple Heart recipient, AJ also received a war hero’s welcome, with a tribute to our Marines from the Jamesport Fire Department and the honor of sharing grand marshal duties for the department’s parade with fellow marine and Afghanistan veteran Robert Peeker. Cpl. Grossklaus is eligible for discharge in November, at which time he and Francesca will look for an apartment closer to her job in NYC, and AJ will finish his bachelor’s degree. Later on, they hope to move back to Long Island to be closer to their families! God Bless and thank you!
