Grace Boehle Golden

Grace Boehle Golden of Cutchogue, 88, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2011, at Eastern Long Island Hospital. Grace was born on April 6, 1923, in Garden City, New York, to Henry G. and Mary L. (Vedilago) Boehle. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis Golden, and brother, George G. Boehle, of Mattituck.

Grace graduated from Freeport High School and then New York School of Business in 1943. She pursued a career in business at various large corporations, including Johns Manville, Sylvania, General Telephone and General Instrument, as an executive secretary. She married Lewis Golden in 1944 and moved to Levittown. She and her husband summered at her family home in Nassau Point. Upon his death in 1988, Grace made Nassau Point her permanent home. Grace was a longtime volunteer at Eastern Long Island Hospital and was involved in homemakers and numerous bridge groups. She was an accomplished china painter and belonged to the Suffolk County Porcelain Artists Association for many years.

Grace is survived by her niece Sandy (Boehle) Neagle, sister-in-law Beverley Boehle and nephew George Boehle, all of Nine Mile Falls, Wash.; nephew George Golden, niece Susan Loche and sister-in-law Gloria Golden, all of Massapequa; and nephew Lewis Golden of Coon Rapids, Minn.

Visiting hours were held on Monday, July 11, at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, July 12, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Mattituck. Interment followed at Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale.
