Richard A. Roces

Richard A. Roces of Mattituck died at his home on July 19, 2011. He was 62 years old.

He was born on February 20, 1949, in NYC to Louis and Celina (née Cruz) Roces. Educated at Midwood High School and Brooklyn College, he enjoyed a career as toll collection officer with the NYC Bridge and Tunnel Authority. He was a member of NYCBTA Benevolent Association and Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church.

Predeceased by his parents, he is survived by his brother, Ronald Roces of Riverhead, and sister, Elizabeth Mullady of Mount Sinai; and nieces and nephews, Sierra and Mia Roces, Margo and Bobby DelliCarpini, Becky, Emma, Michael and Christina Mullady, Kaylie and Bryan Juart, Bryan and Michele Mullady and Celina, Timothy, Betsy and Bryan Hateau.

The family received friends on Friday, July 22, at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, where Catholic prayer services were conducted by Deacon Jeff Sykes. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, July 23, at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church by Monsignor Joseph Staudt with the assistance of the Ministry of Consolation.
