Car strikes truck on Main Road in Mattituck

The driver of a Toyota SUV suffered only minor injuries after the vehicle slammed into the rear of an asphalt truck on Route 25 in Mattituck early Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Both vehicles were headed eastbound when the accident occurred. Traffic was down to one lane for a time as police conducted an investigation and Mattituck Fire Department volunteers removed oil leaking from the damaged SUV. The truck did not appear damaged.
