Veronica J. Hussnatter

Veronica J. Hussnatter of Mattituck died Aug. 1 at the age of 74.

She was born April 26, 1937, in Manhattan, to John and Veronica (Tivnan) West.

She was a bank teller at North Fork Bank and Suffolk County National Bank for many years. She later worked in the cafeteria at Mattituck High School and, more recently, as a home health care aide.

Family members said she loved the beach and the water and enjoyed crocheting.

Ms. Hussnatter is survived by her husband, John; her children, Michael, of Easton, Md., John, of Mattituck, and Luanne, of Riverhead; her sister, Jean Falzone of Woodside, Queens; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will take place Thursday, Aug. 4, from noon to 2 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, where Father Peter Garry will conduct prayer services at 2 p.m. The Rite of Committal will be private.
