Southold police have identified the two people killed in an early-morning blaze Tuesday as Kathryn Primich, 86, and her daughter, Barbara Primich, 56.

Both resided in the waterfront house at 900 Goose Creek Lane, an unpaved, private road. Their bodies were brought to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office in Hauppauge for examination.

Police have not issued a report on the fire, but an investigator at the scene said it does not appear to be suspicious.

Police received word of the blaze through a 911 call from a neighbor at 5:23 a.m. Tuesday and officers arrived to find the two-story house fully engulfed in flames.

About 100 firefighters from Southold, Greenport, Mattituck and Cutchogue responded and volunteers discovered the two victims.

Southold detectives and the Suffolk County Police Department arson and homicide squads are continuing an investigation.
According to her Facebook page, Barbara Primich, a New Jersey native, worked as a paralegal for JP Morgan in New York from 1978 to 1995.
