John A. Pannone

John A. Pannone of Mattituck died Aug. 12 at Hospice Inn in Melville. He was 83.

He was born May 26, 1928, in Brooklyn to Ambrose and Angelina Pannone. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1956. He resided in Brooklyn until he retired to Mattituck.

Mr. Pannone was a graduate of St. John’s University School of Law with a Doctorate in Law. A member of the Brooklyn Bar Association, a past president of the Columbian Lawyers of Brooklyn, a past president of the Catholic Lawyers Guild, a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, a member of the American Legion and member of the North Fork Italian American Club, John was active in the community and was a member of Sacred Heart Parish.

Son of the late Angelina and Ambrose, brother of the late Fena, Angela and the late Francis. Married to Violette (née Buonaiuto) for 50 years. Loved by his daughter Marirose and husband, Kenneth, grandchildren Ethan and Rachel, as well as many nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Visiting hours took place Aug. 14 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A service was held Aug. 15 at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
