Art Beat: Three-part show to open at Studio East Gallery Sept. 10

• Works by Stacy Branfon, Ron Rothman and Dave Markel, including hand-colored photos, paintings and sculpture, will be on view Sept. 10 through the end of October at Rothman’s Gallery in Southold. A reception, featuring live music, is planned for Saturday, Sept. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m.

• “Remnants,” a photo essay by John Dispenza, a part-time Orient resident, can be seen at Floyd Memorial Library in Greenport from Sept. 10 to Nov. 5. The show, featuring local scenes, will open with a reception at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.

• A three-part show will open Saturday, Sept. 10, at Studio East Gallery in Greenport.

The exhibit includes “Dimension to Understanding,” a solo show by abstract impressionist Barbara Bilotta; ‘Remember, Honor & Hope: Tenth Anniversary of September 11,’ featuring work by Studio East members and other artists, raising money for the families of Sept. 11; and “The Armageddon Series,” work by member of the month Lance Corey.

A reception will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 10; the show runs through Oct. 1.

• Gallerists Terry Falquero (Studio East Gallery) and Caroline Waloski (The Sirens’ Song Gallery) will present ‘Remember, Honor and Hope,’ a third-Thursday talk hosted by the East End Arts School and the Greenport galleries, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at Brecknock Hall in Greenport. The “pre-walk talk,” a Sept. 11 anniversary tribute, is held in conjunction with the Greenport Gallery Walk scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17.
