Slide show: Southold firefighters celebrate 125 years

Southold Fire Department celebrated its 125th anniversary Saturday afternoon with a spectacular parade along Main Street.

Nearly two dozen fire departments from as far away as Hicksville participated and hundreds of people lined the parade route to show their support.

Dozens of shiny red  trucks rolled along the road, accompanied by several pipe bands, fire department bands, ROTC cadets, and local politicians.

After the parade, the Southold fire department treated everyone to a barbecue and a dance.
