LIPA Update: Eight scattered outages remain in Southold Town

Eight scattered power outages remain from Tropical Storm Irene in Southold Town, where the Long Island Power Authority estimates full power could be restored by this afternoon.

There are only 1,000 customers still without power across Long Island, with more than 20 percent of those customers living in Southampton Town.

The remaining outages in Laurel, Peconic and Mattituck should all be restored between 1 and 2:30 p.m., according to the latest information released by LIPA.

The two remaining outages in Southold and Cutchogue have no estimated restoration time as of 9:30 a.m. Monday.
