William H. Hinderliter

William H. Hinderliter of Mattituck, known as Bill, died suddenly Sept. 18 at the age of 62.

He was born Dec. 27, 1948, in Jefferson, Pa., to James and Henrietta (Rigby) Hinderliter. He married Cathy Lindsay on Dec. 3, 1983, and they made their home in Mattituck.

He was a member of the Long Island Antique Power Association and the owner of The Rain Carrier and The Chimney Checker.

Mr. Hinderliter is survived by his wife; his children, Wendy Fiorello and William, both of Patchogue, Dana and Darren, both of Mattituck, and Lisa, of Shirley; his brother Richard, of Levittown; his sisters, Gale Hinderliter-Smith of Florida and Sandy Bonner of Westhampton; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother James.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck, Monsignor Joseph Staudt officiating, assisted by the Ministry of Consolation.
