Southold Town has three vacancies on two boards

Southold Town is looking to fill three vacancies on two of its boards.

Housing Advisory Commission member Nancy Pester has resigned and Stephen Kiely was removed from that board last week. On the Board of Assessment Review, Daniel McConlogue has declined reappointment for another five-year term.

Résumés from applicants for all three positions are being accepted by the town clerk’s office.

Established in 2005, the Housing Advisory Commission comprises 10 members who represent diverse interests, said deputy supervisor Phillip Beltz, who oversees the commission.

The members include real estate agents, attorneys, former developers, bankers and community members who are familiar with affordable housing, said Mr. Beltz.

The group is currently drafting the housing chapter of the town’s new comprehensive plan and planning a housing resource fair for next fall. The group also oversees The Cottages in Mattituck affordable housing project and arbitrates landlord/tenant issues under the town’s new accessory apartment law.

Members of the Board of Assessment Review members are responsible for evaluating tax grievances and adjusting taxes accordingly.
