Featured Events: Learn personal communication tips at Brecknock Hall

Peconic Landing will host a communication skills workshop tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brecknock Hall in Greenport.

The event, called “Emotional Intelligence,” aims to show how managing your emotions will help you improve your professional and personal relationships.

“Emotion plays a role in how you communicate with people,” said Connie Ellis, community enrichment manager for Peconic Landing. “The more you understand that, the more your communication skills improve.”

The event is the second installment of a series of four workshops. There will be a behavioral improvement workshop next Thursday and leadership skills will be featured on Oct. 27.

Film Festival, at Floyd Memorial Library, located at 539 First St. in Greenport, starts at 6 p.m. The free event will feature the 2004 Swedish film, “As It Is In Heaven,” directed by Kay Pollak. For more information, call (631) 477-0660.
