Today in Sports: Greenport boys soccer travels to Ross

Having won three of its four previous games, the Greenport/Shelter Island boys soccer team hits the road this afternoon to take on Ross at 4:30 p.m. The Porters are currently in second place in League VIII at 6-3-2. Overall Greenport is 6-7-2.

Today’s game marks the end of the regular season for Greenport, which clinched a playoff spot for the first time in three years last week.

Greenport has already faced Ross once and won 3-1.

The Porters had their three-game winning streak snapped Monday with a 3-1 loss at home against Port Jefferson. The Porters haven’t lost two in a row since the beginning of the month.

Overall it’s a light schedule in the sports world. The only other games slated for today are:
