Cops: Man charged with drug possession in Mattituck

A 23-year-old Wading River man was found to be in illegal possession of a controlled prescription drug during a traffic stop on Sound Road in Mattituck Tuesday night, Southold Police said.

James Brewer of Overhill Road was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was arrested shortly before 10 p.m., processed at police headquarters and released on bail, police said.
