David Albert Ryckman

David Albert Ryckman of Greenport died Sept. 28 at The Shores at Peconic Landing in Greenport. He was 89.
He was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Akron, Ohio, to Kathryn (Kane) and David Albert Ryckman.

He attended Tiffin University in Ohio, and married Gloria Staib in Sycamore, Ohio, on Aug. 11, 1945. They lived in Beverly Hills, Fla., for 25 years before moving to Greenport in 2009.

Mr. Ryckman was general manager of Tenneco (now Pactiv Corporation) for 30 years. He was a Paul Harris Fellow, a member of Rotary International and past president of the Rotary Club in Rittman, Ohio.

He loved to play bridge, family members said.

Mr. Ryckman is survived by his wife, of Greenport; his daughter, Susan Ryckman-Rubio of New York City; and his son, Thomas, of San Francisco, Calif. He was predeceased by his sister, Kathryn Mucciacito.

Arrangements were handled by Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport.
