Virginia Meyran

Virginia S. Meyran of Mattituck died Oct. 20 at the age of 91.

She was born July 2, 1920, in New York City to Harry and Louis (Dami) Stone.

Formerly of Malverne, she had resided in Mattituck since 1960, and been a full-time resident since 1986. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue and a member of the Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary in Greenport.

Predeceased by her husband, William, in 2001, and her son Curtis in 2005, Ms. Meyran is survived by her son Glenn, of Malverne; her daughter, Joan Sawicki of Mattituck; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family received friends Oct. 23 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, where parish prayer services were conducted by Father Marian Bicz, who also celebrated the Liturgy of Christian Burial on Oct. 24 at Our Lady of Ostrabrama. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery, Deacon Robert Dejewski officiating.
