Marion Dorothy Ruppert

Marion Dorothy Ruppert was born in Westhampton to Herbert and Dorothy Egert on March 18, 1933, and passed quietly on Nov. 3, 2011, at the Westhampton Care Center after a long illness. She was 78.

A loving wife and mother, Marion is survived by William, her devoted husband of almost 60 years; her son, William, of Riverhead; her daughter, Christine, and her husband, Martin Karlinsky, of New York City and Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y.; and her brother, Herbert Egert, and his family of East Marion, N.Y.

A lifelong resident of Westhampton, Marion loved the ocean and enjoyed the flowers and birds that surrounded her. Marion’s many friends and family will remember her caring attention, her sense of humor and sparkling laughter.

A funeral service was held at Follett & Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach on Nov. 5, the Rev. Jack King of Beach United Methodist Church officiating. Interment followed at Westhampton Cemetery.
