Anson Boulton Herrick Jr.

Anson Boulton Herrick Jr. (“Bo”) passed away on Saturday, Nov. 19. 2011, surrounded by his loving family. A Southold resident, Bo was raised in Englewood, N.J., and spent most of his life on the East End of Long Island. A veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard (1958-1962), he spent most of his career in the marine and auto industries.

Upon his retirement, Bo volunteered at San Simeon by the Sound in Greenport, N.Y., where his horticultural talents are displayed in their beautiful gardens. Bo also was an active board member at the East End Seaport Maritime Museum in Greenport.

Bo is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Lou (née Crandall); four children, Daniel, Christopher (Sherry), Deborah Stapon (Stephen) and Leah Constantine; eight grandchildren; his mother, Ruth Herrick; and two brothers, John (Libby) and Lawrence (Lisa).

He was predeceased by his father, Anson B. Herrick Sr., and his brother Gilbert.

A memorial service celebrating Bo’s life will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Greenport on Friday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m., with a reception immediately following at the East End Seaport Maritime Museum on Third Street in Greenport.

Donations can be made in Bo’s memory to the East End Seaport Maritime Museum or San Simeon Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
