Longtime Southold resident Ellis M. Terry died Nov. 7 at his home in Northport, Fla., following a long illness. He was 86.
He served in the U.S. Merchant Marine and was a lineman with the Long Island Lighting Company until his retirement.
Mr. Terry was a member of the Southold Fire Department. He enjoyed boating, hunting, farming, and reading, family members said.
Predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Margaret, he is survived by his children, Valerie Andrews of Greenport, Peggy Hill and Vicky, both of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Charles, of Bradenton, Fla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a future date.
