Fern Marguerite (Mauser) Tobin

Fern Marguerite (Mauser) Tobin, formerly of Garden City and Cutchogue, died Nov. 2. at her home in Hobe Sound, Fla.

Family members said she was an award-winning artist who excelled in all needlecrafts including quilting, knitting, beading and needlepoint and traveled around the country exhibiting her work, teaching classes and learning. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a passion for her craft and love of family, they said.

Ms. Tobin is survived by her husband of 53 years, John; her children, Timothy, Nancy Robertson and Charlotte Sturdy; her sisters, Lois Barnes and Jean Shropshire; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be held Friday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Garden City.

Donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice in Hobe Sound, Fla.
