Harold May

Harold May of Aquebogue died Nov. 18 at the age of 90.

He was born June 27, 1921, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Marie (Greenland) and Thomas May Jr.

Mr. May was a high school graduate and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1940 to 1970, a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. He retired with the rank of master sergeant.

He married Patricia Curven on Jan. 20, 1946, in Sag Harbor. He was employed as a court clerk at the state Supreme Court in Riverhead for 20 years.

He enjoyed bird-watching, gardening, playing ukulele, stamp collecting, dancing, puzzles and games.

Mr. May is survived by his wife, of Aquebogue; his daughter, Mary Lou Minnick, and son, Scott, both of Laurel; grandchildren Jason, Yvonne, Lisa and Jamie; and great-grandchildren Haydon and Reagan.

Visiting hours are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Living Water Full Gospel Church, the Rev. George Dupree officiating. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery
