Police: Southold man charged with felony DWI

A Southold man, who had been convicted of drunk driving before, was charged with driving while intoxicated again in his hometown Friday evening, Southold Town Police said.

James Schade, 41, was pulled over for a traffic infraction on Main Road about 7 p.m. and found to be intoxicated, police said. He was taken to police headquarters and held for an appearance in Southold Town Justice Court. His car was impounded due to the prior conviction, Southold Town Police said.

Mr. Schade was charged with felony DWI. He received an elevated charge due to the prior DWI conviction.
