Roman Bajlak

Roman Bajlak of Mattituck died Nov. 22 at Southampton Hospital. He was 86.

He was born in the Ukraine Aug. 3, 1925, to Dimitrius and Maria (Kohuch) Bajlak.

He held a bachelor’s degree and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. He was a civil engineer with the New York City Housing Authority and a member of the Ukrainian Veterans Association.

Mr. Bajlak is survived by his wife, Anna (née Tetatynska).

Visiting hours took place Nov. 25 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service was held Nov. 26 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Riverhead. Interment followed at St. Andrews Cemetery in South Bound Brook, N.J.
