Shirley Brown
Former Greenport resident Shirley Brown of Pittsburgh, Pa., died Nov. 12. She was 6l.
She was born to Raleigh and Annie (Mackey) McMillon in Sanford, Fla., on May 16, 1950, but spent the greater part of her life in Greenport, living there until 2001.
She worked for 35 years as a nurse assistant for New York State and for 15 years at Sunrise Bus Co.
According to family, she enjoyed cooking, fishing, crocheting and video games.
Ms. Brown is survived by her husband, Sonny, of East Islip; her children, Sonny Jr. and Farah McMillon, both also of East Islip, and Reanda McMillon of Pittsburgh; her sister, Shirell Brown of Pittsburgh; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Nov. 18, at Clinton Memorial AME Zion Church, 614 Third St., Greenport. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Cemetery in Farmingdale.
