Southold gets healthy at 5K event

The Southold Athletic Association held its second annual 5K and Fun Run Saturday morning to support health and wellness opportunities for Southold students and to benefit the North Fork Parish Outreach food pantry in Greenport.

Prior to the start of the race, runners were treated to a warmup workout in the elementary gym and were invited to visit informational booths stocked with materials promoting health and wellness.

After several members of the Southold student band played the national anthem, runners made their way through the streets of Southold, finishing up behind the school. Bagels and drinks were waiting for them.
