Videos: Meet the candidates for Southold Town Supervisor

We recently sat down for endorsement interviews with both candidates for Southold Town Supervisor. On Nov. 8, North Fork residents will vote to elect one of these nominees to a four-year term.

Here are the candidates:

BOB MEGUIN

Democratic challenger Robert Meguin has worked as an attorney in private practice since 2004.  Before that, he worked in the court system as a legal advisor to judges, mostly in county court, for 25 years. He also served in a military police reserve unit in Hempstead for 10 years. Mr. Meguin said his interest in the Democratic party was rekindled last summer in order to to help build the party up in Southold.

SCOTT RUSSELL

Incumbent Republican Scott Russell is running for a third term. After 15 years as an assessor, Mr. Russell was first elected supervisor in 2005. With his victory in 2007, he became the first Southold supervisor elected to a four-year term. He won that year with an unprecedented 83 percent of the vote. Mr. Russell said one of his top priorities is completing the town’s comprehensive plan.
