Blotter: Two Greenport residents report thefts

• Two Second Street, Greenport, residents this week reported separate thefts in early October. On Dec. 5, four residents of a multi-family home reported someone entered the house on Oct. 7 and stole a Coke bottle full of coins and a bag containing $130 in cash and coins. A Second Street resident who lives in a nearby house reported that a man entered her house through a kitchen window while she was sleeping on Oct. 6. She said she opened her locked bedroom door and saw a Hispanic man with long black dreadlocks standing in her living room. The man quickly fled and the victim said nothing was stolen.

• A plywood cut-out of Santa Claus was reported stolen early last week from the front yard of a home on Main Bayview Road Southold.

• A Kimberly Lane, Southold, resident reported that someone threw eggs at the bedroom window of her home at about 2:40 a.m. on Dec. 11.

• A leaf blower was reported stolen from the backyard of a Sound Avenue, Mattituck, house sometime between Dec. 1 and Dec. 12.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
